Diesel fits in WONDERFULLY!
I have some photos of Winston/Diesel. He's an amazing little boy. We are on the way to being potty trained...doing really well!! Both Razz and Atia adore him...Atia has really come out of her shell...she plays w/the baby all the time. Soooo cute!! The poor little guy has to hide to sleep...every time I see him I have to kiss him...he's never gonna get any sleep. I will keep you posted as both him and Atia grow.
Thanks!!!!

Dallas gets nothing but the Best!
Thank you for letting us adopt Dallas (rght). He has been nice addition to our family. The girls like him alot. They play and play and play.... NEVER STOPPING! Still working on the potty trainning but he is still young and alot to learn. Cadence (left) is pictured with him (also adopted from DCHS). Those 2 are unstoppable. She is teaching him the good and the bad habits.

THANK U AGAIN. YOU GUYS DO A GREAT JOB!
5/25/2009--Hi Ladies, As you might of heard HE maybe younger but sure has out grown his sister. Dallas now weights 62 lbs and look as if he still has some skin to grow into. Cadence is still healthy and she weights only 60 lbs.
Both doing very well!
Christmas with Lia
I know it took some time for us to get around to writing about our kitten, but thought you might like to know how much love and laughter “Lia” has brought to our home. Adopted “Faith” from the Dodge Co Humane Society last summer, Lia became an instant member of our family. Lia definitely has her own personality and we all already know when she wants to play and when she wants to be alone. When we started decorating for Christmas this year, Lia was funnier to laugh at with every box that was brought out. She really thought that Christmas was her holiday and all these boxes were for her! She even managed to open one of the presents under the tree!! I attached a picture of her enjoying the wrapping paper after the presents had been opened. She is just adorable and we are so glad that she is a part of our family!!
Thank you Dodge Co. Humane Society!

Brin AKA Tippy finds new digs!
Hi Folks!
Remember me? My name is Brin? I’m the one you guys nicknamed “Tippy” because my head is tilted to one side. I was with you guys a long time!!! But I’m so glad my new daddy saw me in the cage in April and asked if he could hold me. Even though my head was crooked, he said I was cute.
Even though my head still is crooked, I can run like the wind and jump on stuff and play no problem! My new mom and dad had me all checked out by their vet and I’m fine!
You should see my new house! I have an upstairs and downstairs to run around in and lots of places to hide. I have a new big sister kitty named “Froggy”. She’s still getting used to me but I chase her and she likes it (I think). And 2 doggie sisters named
When the weather turned warm my mom and dad open a thing called a screened in porch. Froggy and I can watch all sorts of stuff outside but still be safe inside. It’s so much fun here! I have lots of fuzzy mice and balls to play with and sleep at night next to my new mom. I also get lots of kisses and hugs from her and dad.
I love my new home and my new family. I’m so glad they adopted me!!! I hope my other kitty friends at the Humane Society get adopted soon so they can have a mom and dad like mine someday.
Hope you enjoy the pictures of me!
Love and Meows!
Brinny “Boop-Boop”
Adopted by Linda and Jeff in April 2008
Thank you so much for the love of this sweet baby.
No Longer am I a Shelter Kat!!
Thought you’d like to see how your former “Gwen” is doing. We have named her Nishka – No longer am I a SHelter KAt. I know it’s a stretch, my son named her Ishka, he just made it up and my husband added the N. Then I thought up the acronym. So everyone in the family had a hand in naming her. She seems to like it and it does suit her.
We have had her 2 weeks last Saturday. She took a bit to warm up, but then she got an abscess under her right ear and had a 105 temp last week. The vet drained it and put her on antibiotics and she has been a regular social kitty since. The vet had no clue what triggered the abscess, just one of those things. Nishka and the dog are not “friends” yet, but they do tolerate each other now, so we are hopeful. She rules the upstairs and visits the lower level regularly now for extra family time.
We are so glad to have her. She suits our family and seems that we suit her too.
Thanks for all you do!
Tamara
Jersey joins the Gang
Here are some recent pics of Jersey! She will be 7 months old this month!
She is a very sweet, even tempered, very laid back puppy personality. Of course, she is still a puppy and has her "puppy power" moments of zipping around like a rocket. Independent, and not much into snuggling- more of a "let's play" dog than "pet me" dog. Smart, and was easy to train. I think she is going to be a Moose! Right now, she must be very close to 40-45 lbs as a 7 month old.

Skeeter Saves her New Brother
I just thought I'd give you an update and some pictures of Skeeter - who is now known as Mia. She is doing really well. It's hard to believe that she's only been in our house 2 1/2 weeks. She is mostly past her resource guarding, cat chasing and is learning her manners at an extraordinary pace. Teddy - who had significant seperation anxiety - has been helped tremendously by this little girl and we all thank you for it!Deb
Zorro Found his Forever Home
Dear Staff at DCHS,
We just wanted to send you all an email and say hi and give you guys an update on Zorro, whom we adopted in July. Zorro is doing great! He has been a wonderful addition to our family. Everyone who meets him, loves him. We just absolutely love him and he is getting along really well with our lab mix that we have. They love to run and play all day long. We are hoping to stop up sometime soon when we are up that way, so that you guys can see him, we know you all fell as in love with him as we did. I have attached some pictures of him for you all.

Finally, A Home for Creedance
Hello,
Thank you for allowing us to adopt our Beagle. She is such a bright light!!
I just wanted to update you on Creedance. We are so thrilled that she was waiting for us to find her earlier this spring! She such a wonderful additional to our family. One look at her and we were hooked! She is so playful and always minds us.
We are so lucky to have her as part of our family!!
Puppy Mill to Puppy Palace
Just wanted to give you a quick update on Lucy. She is doing great so far. So much is so foreign to her but, every day she opens up a little more, she discovers more and we gain a little more of her trust. It has been so rewarding to watch her come out of the shell she was trapped in for so long. She has a long way to go but, we are totally committed to her and we are crazy about her. You wouldn't believe how much she craves and seeks attention from us. It is so cool. Anyway, if you guys don't mind, we'd like to bring her up sometime so you can see how well she is doing. Once again, thank you for giving us the opportunity to adopt Lucy.

Hi! |
Bosley's Got It Made
This past October, we adopted Bosley. He's the 4-yr old Shih Zhu/Poodle. He has made a fine addition to our family. Julianna is his main caretaker and they are inseparable. Isaac, our 18mth Labradoodle, also loves Bosley. They wrestle like 2 year olds. Thank you for the opportunity to adopt Bosley. He is exactly what we were looking for!
Baby Oliver
I adopted Oliver. I just wanted to keep you updated on him. He is something else, playful when he wants to be but yet SOOOO cuddly. He gets along wit everyone, and wants to play with the dogs and cat. He just loves Savannah our 3 yr old black lab mix. He follows her everywhere and likes to lay on her pillow with her and nap. She is still a little bit unsure about that but they get along wonderfully. Oliver has adjusted so well, its amazed me and my parents. He is great with the litterbox..no accidents..yet. He likes to hide under my bed then pounce on my toes when i walk by. He's a goofball. And now he's getting more comfortable and curious, so everytime i open my door he runs out and i end up chasing him forever. He is even getting brave enough to go up and try to play with our cat, Cali,wh is a grouch and doesn't mind him but doesn't want to play with him either. But he still keeps trying Well, theres a bit of an update on Oliver. He is so loved...even my dad loves him (and my dad usually wants nothing to do with the cats..more of a dog person he is.
Cuddling with Charlie
We are e-mailing you to tell you that Kris is doing great. He actually was renamed. His new name is Charlie. He responds well to his new name and is getting along great! Here are some pictures of my husband and Charlie cuddling. As you can tell he feels right at home. Thank you again for letting us adopt him. He is a wonderful addition to our family.
Sweet Sadie
Other than being groggy from surgery, she's been doing quite well. She loves being in warm places (laying in front of the heater is one of her favorite things), but also enjoys running around outside. She's a pretty calm dog (especially when compaired with our black lab) and we expect her to grow into an excellent companion. As of today, she's reached 40 pounds (up from 15 when we got her at about 2 months), but she's still growing. Her ears are floppy right now, but one used to stand up and we think one or both might start to stand up again - they're standing higher and higher...
Ruben's New Home
Hi,
I just wanted to let you know Ruben is doing well, and happier than happy here. He is something else! He doesn't like men too much, but he loves me and my daughter! We all love him, he's a nut! As you can see he likes his blankets and pillows!!!!! Bless his heart!

Buddy's New Digs
Hello, just thought i'd drop you a line letting you know how Buddy is doing. Buddy is a great dog, very loveable. We have lots of fun playing, cuddling, and going on walks with him. He really loves to play tug of war, and play catch. He has learned very quickly how to shake, lay down, and play dead. Buddy is really smart! We all love Buddy and he is a great addition to our family. It will take time to iron out the kinks but that is to be expected. Thanks for the opportunity of being able to adopt Buddy. He has really helped me cope personally from the death of my last dog. I had to put my dog down after 13 years right before we decided to get Buddy. He has really been great. Thanks again..
Zena's Settlin' in
Zena has given us much love and laughs. She is a strange one, stubborn
and lets you know when SHE wants to do something..we love her very
much. She loves to go in the car, doggie treats and to take up most of our
king size bed everynight. She loves to frolic in the snow but will not go
outside in the rain. She gets very excited when our 5 Grandsons come over and sleeps by
them. She is spoiled rotten. It took her 2 months to go upstairs, we
tried to get her up to the bedroom, now when we are gone she sleeps on
our bed until we come home. The strangest thing about her is she takes
one of our shoes upstairs when we are gone and puts it on the bed,
mostly Tony's slippers. We think maybe she is hiding the shoe so we
can't leave her again.
Thank you for Zena, we are grateful to have her.

A Puggle's Story: Cornelius
We, (Al & Debra ) lost our beloved dog Waldo to a stroke. Our household consisted of an elderly cat that sleeps all day and grown children. With the idea of not replacing our dog but helping an unfortunate animal , Cornelius (formerly Bronco)was found. He was on the DCHS available dog list, but was being fostered with a wonderful woman named Patrice. She explained to us about his special needs and also told us that she would have kept him herself. We took him home on 10-02-08 and are very happy with him. With scratched corneas and allergies, he seems to love his backyard and his walks through the small Village of Johnson Creek.
He is our little happy camper!
Haley's Comet
Hi!
We adopted Haley (we changed the spelling a bit, like Haley’s comet!) last Thursday. She’s doing GREAT! She hasn’t stopped wagging her tail, she’s getting along really well with our other dog, and she’s adjusting to her crate very quickly. She’s just a little joy! We absolutely love her… and her fancy little “shoes”.

Lois gets Pampered
Just wanted to let you know Ms. Lois is doing great. I've attached a pictureof her after her spa bath at the vet. She loves riding in the car and playing in her big fenced in yard. She
also rides in the semi-truck & goes to Florida twice a month. She has been a excellent addition to our family!
Silly Bugsy!
Hey guys!We just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that Bugsy is doing
wonderfully! He's gotten settled in here and all of the kids in the
neighborhood absolutely adore him. (We've told everyone where they can come
to adopt his brother and sister.) The funnest part is when he gets the
tennis ball out. He'd play fetch all day if we let him!
Thanks again for everything!
Bob, Lisa, Logan, and Bugsy
Izzy's doing GREAT
Here are some pictures of June, Now Isabelle ( Izzy ) for short. She is just wonderful! She has only had one accident in the house and gets along really well with Sadie. Thanks again!

Goliath Update
Hi there!
Say hello to everyone for us!
Rukus works his Magic
I was very devastated after losing my 1 year old kitten Cody to FIP.Although it is a terminal illness, I tried everything I could, including
natural medicine to try to save him. In December of 2008, he succumbed to
his illness and based on his quality of life, at that moment, I had to put
him down. I went through a terrible grieving process, worse than I had ever
experienced. I wasn't sure how I was going to snap out of it. I found the
Petfinder webstie and started looking through the kitties up for adoption.
I didn't think I was ready for another, until, I came across Rukus at the
Dodge County Humane Society. I saw his picture and knew he was the one. He
also, looked very much like my Cody. Unfortunately he was already spoken
for, but I was told that I could call back at a later date to make sure that
the adoption took place. I was very disappointed. However, I did call back
in a few weeks and found that he was still available. He was six months old
and had been at the shelter for about 5 of those months. I knew then, that he was
meant for me. We drove 2 hours in a snowstorm a few days later and adopted
him. I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him. I just love him so
much. He is the most adorable, loving, kitty. He helped me through a very
difficult time. I renamed him Codee after the kitty that I lost. Every day
when I pull up in the driveway after work, he pops in the window to say
"Welcome Home, Mom!" , then meets me at the door. When he does this I thank
God that Codee found his way to me. Thanks for letting me share this story.
What a Smile!!
I just wanted to send you a few pictures of Tula (formerly Destiny). We adpoted her in April 2008 and we absolutely adore her. She is wonderful with my kids, other animals (her best friend is a 18 pound terrier) and loves to be our companion. I think Tula loves being our lapdog! Thanks again!

Kenzie Accepts
Hello,
Kenzie is doing well and has settled in nicely with everyone in our home, including our dog Miss Misty. He hasnt had any accidents and has freedom to run the whole house now. He is happy with us, I think, and we are very happy with him! Misty slept by him for the first time tonite and played fetch with some toys together today so I think she has officialy shown us she has accepted him, so he is a definite keeper. We love him lots and makes us all very happy. He is already my little shadow. If I move he is two steps behind me. Thank you for the opportunity to adopt from your shelter. You have a very nice facility.
Jessica & Kenzie

Happy Endings and Great Stories
Emma makes out like a bandit!
I adopted Emma from the Dodge County Humane Society in July. She has been the best cat I could have asked for. As soon as I brought her home she laid down right next to me and wouldn't have anything to do with anyone else. She's much better now though. Anyone who comes over, she's over by them rubbing against their legs, head butting their hands wanting attention. It took her a while to get used to her surroundings however she now looks at me like she is allowing me to grace her presence. She picked up quickly on some things though like when I turn the upstairs light on, she knows that means it's time for bed so she goes right upstairs. She loves to flop down with her paws wrapped around my arm and her head resting on my hand and sleep. I am so happy that I picked an older cat (she turned 8 in August, and yes, we had presents for her) as it took her absolutely no time at all to remember where her food dishes and litter box were. She's never messed outside of the box either. She doesn't get in things she's not supposed to but still has lots of kitten in her when we get the toys out! She's quite the talker too. She loves sitting in the window or laying in the sunny spot on the floor. All in all, it was a perfect match!

Rhea's New Home
I thought I would email you and say what a great experience we had last Christmas with your shelter. We adopted a black lab mix female names Rhea. What a great dog! She loves to go on long walks and is GREAT at frisbee! We are going to enter her in frisbee contests this summer! We went to obidence school and she passed with flying colors! She was exactly what we were looking for and we love her very much. What a great addition to our family! If you get any other black labs or black lab mix in your shelter let us know!! Thank you again!

Ilean lives the good life!
To all my friends at the Dodge County Humane Society,
You all might remember me as a kitten named Elizabeth. I had a broken front paw when I came to you that had never healed quite right. You wonderful people took good care of me at the humane society until early September when you found me a new family to live with. When I left you there was a very strong possibility that I would lose my whole front leg to amputation because of my deformed front foot. My new mommy took me to your vet to have me spayed and possibly amputate my leg at that time. Both your vet and my new vet in Waupun agreed that although my leg was not aestetically pretty to look at, there was no need to remove it. Because my new family is a bit silly and have a sense of humor they changed my name to Ilean (get it? I lean) I love my new home!! I have a big yellow lab named Honey that I spend a lot of time with. And when my family is home they spend all sorts of time playing with me. I have lots and lots of toys but my favorite thing is the play mice which I love to hide and hunt and put in my family's shoes. I am very friendly and everyone that visits the house says I am the coolest cat they have ever met. I love all people and like to be involved in everything that people are doing. I don't go outside but everyone comes to visit me inside so that's okay. I purr all the time and love to lay on everyone's lap. I am always playing and my family says I make them laugh every day. Sometimes they say I'm naughty because I am very curious but they understand that I am still a kitten and they love me very much no matter what I do. I just wanted to tell you that I am doing very well and want to thank you for finding me a family that loves me so much. My mommy tells me every day that I am the best cat in the world. I love everyone in my new family and hope that you continue to find good homes for all your animals there. Thanks again for giving me a chance. I love all of you too!

Griffon finds himself the PERFECT home!
|
Hey everyone! It's been a week now since we adopted Bo, or as we now call him Griffon, and we thought it would be appropriate to give you all an update on how he's doing! It's been tough, but Griffon is adjusting to life in our house just fine. He's doing really well with his potty/crate training and has had only 2 accidents in the house. We're learning lots of new things about him too! When we first initially met him he seemed rough and adventurous, but now we're finding out that he's more of a cuddle bug and kind of a chicken when it comes to some things. He doesn't like being outside in the cold for too long and usually does his business right in front of the door. He doesn't like being in his crate if he knows you're home, but he's learning to deal with it and stops whining and barking once he knows it's not getting your attention. He's starting to realize that he has to sit and be calm and quiet before he gets his meals or let out of his crate. He likes to wake me up at 6:30 in the morning to go potty, but at least he's letting me know he needs to go. He also is learning that if he has to go potty when he's out of his crate he can go sit by the door and whine. He's very smart and getting along with our other two dogs very well. I've attached some pictures of him for all of you to see! Thank you so much for letting us adopt him, he's been a good outlet for me to put my spare time now that my husband has shipped off for his training with the military. He's also starting to fill the empty spot we had from putting our other dog down. We'll be sending you another update in about a month! Jake, Ally, Layla, Jewels & Griffon |

Misty Rose Fits Right In!

I just wanted to drop a line & say how much I love my new home & that I have settled in very nicely. I have a great new friend named Daisy that I play with & lay next to in the sun & going for walks is so much fun. My new family is great & I get plenty of hugs & kisses, not to mention toys & treats. Thanks for finding me a great new home where I am well loved! Affinity, a.k.a Misty Rose |
Raffy's New Digs
Raffy is SUCH a good dog! When we left the shelter, we went to Fleet Farm and got him some food, some toys and treats. We tried something new with him that I am sure many people that crate their dogs in the car never do.........we put his crate facing the front. Shadow the younger cat is still puffing his tail at Raffy. In fact, I think Tinker is really happy that there is someone in the house that is keeping Shadow from chasing after her. It is also possible that Tinker is happy to see a dog that looks so much like Trisha (the dog that you saw in the clothes basket in the picture) Trisha was Tinker's buddy. Raffy IS interested in the cats, but we are already working on teaching him NOT to chase them. He is doing very well, especially for the first few hours. We introduced Raffy to Krysta (14) and Robert (19), and it was love at first sight(just like it was with us). There are so many things about Raffy that make him a perfect fit.
