Bosley's Got It Made

This past October, we adopted Bosley. He's the 4-yr old Shih Zhu/Poodle. He has made a fine addition to our family. Julianna is his main caretaker and they are inseparable. Isaac, our 18mth Labradoodle, also loves Bosley. They wrestle like 2 year olds. Thank you for the opportunity to adopt Bosley. He is exactly what we were looking for!

Sugar & Spice

Sorry it took us so long to write since we've adopted sugar & spice.
They are very happy in their new home - and so are we to have them!
We decided that sugar was the smaller of the two - and she is very sociable and LOVES to come out and play.
Spicey is the chubbier one and he is a little more reserved and enjoys his sleep.  He sometimes gets crabby when sugar is playing too loud.  They are sooooo much fun to have.

Webby the Wonderful

Here is a pic of webster - or as we like to call him: webbie. He has 2 big brothers, Chilli & Booner. Webbie loves to pick on Booner and Booner seems to allow it.Webbie just started going to daycare twice a month . His 1st day was confusing - it was like dropping off a child for their first day of school. He cried a LOT. However, when we picked him up in the afternoon - he couldnt stop talking about all of his new friends that he had met. He is adjusting quite well. He has opened 3 presents under the x-mas tree thus far - too bad none of them were mine. I need to train him better, I guess. His big brothers, Booner and Chilli have taught him his boundaries in our 2 acre yard. He is soooooo smart. We are lucky to have found him and he is also happy to have reunited w/his old friends - Sugar Spice. Merry X-mas and Happy New Year. Webbie is the one on the right.

Baby Oliver

I adopted Oliver. I just wanted to keep you updated on him. He is something else, playful when he wants to be but yet SOOOO cuddly. He gets along wit everyone, and wants to play with the dogs and cat. He just loves Savannah our 3 yr old black lab mix. He follows her everywhere and likes to lay on her pillow with her and nap. She is still a little bit unsure about that but they get along wonderfully. Oliver has adjusted so well, its amazed me and my parents. He is great with the litterbox..no accidents..yet. He likes to hide under my bed then pounce on my toes when i walk by. He's a goofball. And now he's getting more comfortable and curious, so everytime i open my door he runs out and i end up chasing him forever. He is even getting brave enough to go up and try to play with our cat, Cali,wh is a grouch and doesn't mind him but doesn't want to play with him either. But he still keeps trying Well, theres a bit of an update on Oliver. He is so loved...even my dad loves him (and my dad usually wants nothing to do with the cats..more of a dog person he is.

Cuddling with Charlie

We are e-mailing you to tell you that Kris is doing great. He actually was renamed. His new name is Charlie. He responds well to his new name and is getting along great! Here are some pictures of my husband and Charlie cuddling. As you can tell he feels right at home. Thank you again for letting us adopt him. He is a wonderful addition to our family.

Cadence the Cutie

Hi Everyone, Thank you for finding a new home for me I LOVE IT! My sisters are all loving and nice. I play all day and all nite when we dont have to sleep. I have a new bed its comfy! I do new tricks too. I know how to sit and shake on command! YIPPY! Im potty trained too. I weigh about 14.5 lbs now. AGAIN THANK YOU for not looking down on me when I needed a new home. I know you try your best to find all homes for all my friends-Cadence (LICKS & KISSES Hi Girls, Just wanted to update you on Cadence (aka Lena) She is doing real good as you can see with the note that she sent you. She is getting big. Very playful and always on the GO! Eating & drinking very good. She has adapted very well for all the moving around she did. Her surgery went really good. She had gotten the stitches out on Christmas Eve with no problems. Her sisters love her. We bought a new blanket, a bed and all new toys. She is NON stop! Thank you for letting us adopt her. She has been a great addition to our family and will be loved by all!

Sweet Sadie

Other than being groggy from surgery, she's been doing quite well. She loves being in warm places (laying in front of the heater is one of her favorite things), but also enjoys running around outside. She's a pretty calm dog (especially when compaired with our black lab) and we expect her to grow into an excellent companion. As of today, she's reached 40 pounds (up from 15 when we got her at about 2 months), but she's still growing. Her ears are floppy right now, but one used to stand up and we think one or both might start to stand up again - they're standing higher and higher...

Kahn Strikes Gold!

It’s only been a couple weeks and we are all amazed at how well he fits right in at our house.  We couldn’t have adopted a better dog.   He gets along great with our dog Sparkie and they have been playing since day one.  He actually wears Sparkie out!  Our kids (7 and 10) love him!  He is a very friendly and loveable dog.  He is adjusting well to his new home, with only a couple accidents if you know what I mean, but that’s to be expected in this time of adjustment. I gotta say, he is a good listener and learns very quickly.  Kahn is really adapting to our daily routines and seems very happy.  He is a big baby and loves to snuggle.  Thank you for the opportunity to give Kahn a new start and a happy home.  We love him! J

Mikey

Mikey is the best dog we have ever owned, he loves our children and our home! He gets plenty of exercise every day and is so loveable. Mikey has encouraged every one we know to consider adoption because they see how well he behaves and how friendly he is. Everywhere we take him everyone raves about what a beautiful, well behaved dog he is! He is spoiled with love, treats, and a big warm fluffy bed. Our vet just loves him! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have such a wonderful addition to our family Marcie Tushoski and Family

Happy Endings and Great Stories

Emma makes out like a bandit!

I adopted Emma from the Dodge County Humane Society in July.  She has been the best cat I could have asked for.  As soon as I brought her home she laid down right next to me and wouldn't have anything to do with anyone else.  She's much better now though.  Anyone who comes over, she's over by them rubbing against their legs, head butting their hands wanting attention.  It took her a while to get used to her surroundings however she now looks at me like she is allowing me to grace her presence.  She picked up quickly on some things though like when I turn the upstairs light on, she knows that means it's time for bed so she goes right upstairs.  She loves to flop down with her paws wrapped around my arm and her head resting on my hand and sleep.  I am so happy that I picked an older cat (she turned 8 in August, and yes, we had presents for her) as it took her absolutely no time at all to remember where her food dishes and litter box were.  She's never messed outside of the box either.  She doesn't get in things she's not supposed to but still has lots of kitten in her when we get the toys out!  She's quite the talker too.  She loves sitting in the window or laying in the sunny spot on the floor.  All in all, it was a perfect match!

Harley's New Home!

December, 2007 update!
Harley has been with us two months now...and I think he likes it here!  I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing what Harley does while I'm working in my home office.  He's really getting the hang of that relaxation thing....LOL.

Harley LOVES hanging out on his deck!  I can't let him out there unsupervised because I'm afraid he'll launch himself off if he sees a cat or a rabbit.  My sister and brother-in-law (Jan & Larry...the ones that met Harley before we did) are coming next weekend and will babysit Harley while I go to my meeting in Dodge City.  I'm going to have Larry add some horizontal boards around the railing so Harley can still stick his head out, but can't squeeze thru the rails.  He wouldn't try to jump over the rail would he?   I'm still working on getting the variance from the city for the 5' fence, but I'm close.  We've had one appointment with a dog trainer, but we didn't get along and I fired her.  I hope to try another one this week.  We make a little more progress every day.  Hope all is well in your world.  Life is good for Harley!

Raffy's New Digs

Raffy is SUCH a good dog! When we left the shelter, we went to Fleet Farm and got him some food, some toys and treats. We tried something new with him that I am sure many people that crate their dogs in the car never do.........we put his crate facing the front. Shadow the younger cat is still puffing his tail at Raffy. In fact, I think Tinker is really happy that there is someone in the house that is keeping Shadow from chasing after her. It is also possible that Tinker is happy to see a dog that looks so much like Trisha (the dog that you saw in the clothes basket in the picture) Trisha was Tinker's buddy. Raffy IS interested in the cats, but we are already working on teaching him NOT to chase them. He is doing very well, especially for the first few hours. We introduced Raffy to Krysta (14) and Robert (19), and it was love at first sight(just like it was with us). There are so many things about Raffy that make him a perfect fit.
