Ways to help

Help the Dodge County Humane Society

  • Donate money (We rely heavily on donations to keep our doors open.)
  • Donate an item from our Wish List (see below)
  • Become a foster home
  • Donate your time (We love volunteers!)
  • Visit our Thrift Store (There are bargains galore!)
  • Spay or neuter your pets (and encourage others to do so!)
  • Collect Purina Weight Circles from Purina products and turn them into the shelter.

Voluteers Needed

Volunteer Job Openings:

Saturday Greeter:

Can you spare some time on Saturday afternoons? Say, from from 1pm - 5pm? We are looking for people to greet our customers as they come in the door and direct them where they need to go.  Job requirements are a smile and pleasant purrsonality.

Drivers:

If you like driving, we are looking for people to take and pick up our animals at veterinary clinics.  Sometimes, a longer road trip is required to Madison, to the UW of Wisconsin Veterinary School.  Drivers must be 18 year old (or older) and have a valid driver's license.  Our van will be used, so there is no expense to the volunteer.

Handyman (or woman!):

Every now and then we need someone to do minor repairs at the shelter.  Currently, our second van needs to be outfitted properly, there are minor building repairs, etc.  If you can help with our maintenance needs, please give a call.  We have some tools, but not many.

Special Events Helpers:

Throughout the year, we attend area dog fairs, pet fairs, and other shelter events in order to promote our organzitation and to raise awareness.  We also need help at our fund raising events.   If you don't mind spending a day at one of these functions or helping out a fund raising event, give us a ring.  A good time is guaranteed!
